Wou d’Uelzecht
Soundwalk
As part of LUGA – the Luxembourg exhibition dedicated to urban gardens, temporary installations, and agricultural projects – we are taking part in the project Wou d’Uelzecht, a creation by composer Catherine Kontz.
Follow the river Alzette through the Grund, Clausen and the Pfaffenthal with the Wou d’Uelzecht – Stad soundwalk. A sensory experience highlighting the unique soundscape of the river as well as its stories, and connecting it through artistic response in music and text to its historical significance and location.
Available in 4 languages (LU, FR, DE, EN), it can be done any time, on your own or in a group and is suitable for all ages. The route is 2.7 km long and we suggest allowing around 90 min, including the 13 audio tracks.
Route:
Start: rue St Ulric – End: Théiwesbuer near the Pfaffenthal Panoramic Elevator, or funicular Kirchberg. Quick return to rue Ulric via rue Sosthène Weis (17 min. walk).
Download or stream the audio for free onto your own device (phone, tablet) and follow the map. Pause at each number on the map to listen to the corresponding track. This is a 360º binaural recording: use headphones.
