« Miniature » : ils jouent comme des grands !
To end the year on a high note, Pascal Meyer and Guy Frisch gave us a moment of escape, a return to childhood, exploring curious little instruments. Let's revisit the Lucilin in the City #10 concert: Miniature, at the Nosbaum Reding gallery on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Strange, cute, or colorful, they overflowed with music to share. Straight from their toy box, a toy piano, a triangle, and a whole bunch of small instruments broke free from their toy image. With the help of Pascal Meyer and Guy Frisch, they took center stage with as much majesty as Melanie Loureiro’s caterpillars, cocoons, and butterflies to finally make themselves heard.
The program conceived by Pascal Meyer and Guy Frisch sensitively and precisely guided the audience through the sonic experiments of John Cage, the meditative trance of Pauline Oliveros, and the enchanting solo for triangle by Alvin Lucier. Between smiles, laughter, and moments of introspection, the audience was able to glimpse a part of the diversity of approaches in contemporary music. In this room with pastel carpet, the instruments, musicians, and audience began to play together with the invisible waves of music that had become almost palpable.
