Juillet 2022: L’heure bleue, Rétrospective 2021/22, Nouvelle Saison!

Open air concert
L’heure bleue – Dimitri Mallet

Saturday 9 July at 9.30 pm – Ellergronn (Esch-sur-Alzette)

We do not always actively perceive it, but the moment of nightfall is a special moment every day. If, at this very moment, which in itself is already so charming, a concert is additionally given in a special place, it can only be a beautiful evening – and that is exactly what United Instruments of Lucilin is offering on 9 July in the Ellergronn in Esch.

The curator Dimitiri Mallet, in collaboration with the Luxembourg architect Sergio Carvalho, has set up the project ‘L’heure bleue’, a museum in the middle of nature. The platform installed next to it will allow the audience to experience a sound programme on silence and deep listening on 9 July at 9.30 pm at nightfall. Come and enjoy this special moment with us, accompanied by a varied programme of music, including mythical works by John Cage.

Programme: Michael Gordon, Light is Calling (7′), Toshio Hosokawa, Melodia (11′), John Cage, Ryoanji for flute and percussion (10′), Pauline Oliveros, Sonic meditations (10′), John Cage, 4’33, Collective improvisation on the theme of silence and nature (25′).

With:
André Pons-Valdès (violin)
Sophie Deshayes (flute)
Frin Wolter (accordion)
Guy Frisch (percussion)

Total duration: 70 minutes

Thank you for a great season 2021/22
Retrospection

Hosokawa, Sleep Laboratory, Lucilin au Carré …

The season is coming to an end and we look back at it with a smile:

Let me die before I wake – an encounter between music, text and movement (Théâtre des Capucins), the live-cinema O Táxi Nº 9297, All d’Déieren aus dem Bësch – the adaptation for the stage and in the Luxembourgish language of the tale Frérot et Sœurette by the Brothers Grimm, the ‘thinkspiel’ Kein Licht (Amsterdam) and much more! Not to forget the Lucilin Extended concert (Philharmonie), our Lucilin au Carré series and the video series Profiles in partnership with the CNA, …

It was magnificent and it is even more exciting to be able to announce that highlights of the 2021/22 season such as Toshio Hosokawa’s musical tale Deine Freunde aus der Ferne and Alexander Schubert’s phenomonal project Sleep Laboratory will be presented again next season!

Thank you to all the musicians of United Instruments of Lucilin!
Thank you to all the spectators!

An end is always a beginning: it is time to look forward to the new season!
