Call for composers!
Call for applications for musical compositions
As part of its public commission programme, the Ministry of Culture has launched a call for applications for the commissioning of new musical compositions intended for ten orchestras or musical ensembles for the 2025/2026 season.
The scheme supporting the creation of original and unpublished musical works constitutes one of the main pillars of the public policy for contemporary creation and pursues a threefold objective:
· to stimulate the creation of a large number of musical projects and thus contribute to the renewal of repertoires;
· to support the work of composers;
· to ensure the diversity of the musical offer by encouraging musical structures (orchestras, ensembles, etc.) to programme works by contemporary Luxembourgish composers.
The call is open to any composer of Luxembourg nationality or resident in Luxembourg.
The application file submitted to the Ministry of Culture must include the following elements:
· a motivation letter;
· an artistic CV;
· a description of the theme and musical style of the proposed composition;
· excerpts of previously written works, accompanied by possible audio or video samples, as well as any other relevant information;
· the targeted ensemble(s).
Applications must be sent by 16 November 2025 by email to the following address: appels@mc.etat.lu
