Luxembourg Composition Academy
Masterclass de composition d’une semaine au Luxembourg pour étudiants en composition, organisée par United Instruments of Lucilin et le festival rainy days (Philharmonie Luxembourg).
The Luxembourg Composition Academy is a unique event in Luxembourg, giving eight young composers the opportunity to create a new piece, accompanied by musicians from the United Instruments of Lucilin ensemble and renowned composers.
The academy program includes lectures and individual tutoring sessions with two guest composers, as well as workshops. Each participant is invited to write a piece for United Instruments of Lucilin. These compositions will then be worked on during the academy and premiered at the academy’s closing concert, as part of the rainy days festival. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend all festival concerts. The academy is conducted in English.
Created in 2015 by United Instruments of Lucilin and neimënster (partner from 2015 to 2023), the Luxembourg Composition Academy has been held in partnership with the Rainy Days festival, the Philharmonie’s international festival of contemporary music, since 2017.
