To strengthen its team, contemporary music ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin is looking for a Communication and Cultural Mediation Officer.

About Lucilin

United Instruments of Lucilin is a Luxembourg-based chamber music ensemble specialising in contemporary music. Founded in 1999, the ensemble brings together a core group of eight musicians and presents around 40 concerts and musical events each year, both in Luxembourg and internationally.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the ensemble’s Administrative Director and Strategic Director, and working closely with a team of three employees, the Communications and Audience Engagement Officer will develop and implement the ensemble’s communication strategy to promote its activities, increase its visibility and engage and expand its audiences.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of cultural outreach and audience engagement initiatives alongside the rest of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

Communications

  • Analyse, develop and implement the ensemble’s overall communication strategy, aligned with its short-, medium- and long-term artistic programme, as well as its other projects: Lucilin Records (record label) and Lucilin Lab.
  • Identify target audiences, communication objectives and requirements for each event or project.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Lucilin’s visibility in Luxembourg and internationally.
  • Write and distribute content (concert descriptions, presentation documents, press releases, newsletters and website content), ensuring consistency with the overall communication strategy while adapting to the specific needs of each project.
  • Coordinate collaborations with external creative providers (design agencies, photographers, etc.), from briefing to production follow-up, and adapt visual assets for internal use when required.
  • Develop press relations and coordinate communications with concert organisers and festivals.
  • Develop and implement the ensemble’s digital communication strategy and social media campaigns, from content planning and production to performance monitoring and analysis.

Audience Development and Cultural Engagement

  • Contribute to the development of initiatives that encourage audience engagement and interaction (artist encounters, talks, educational content, etc.).
  • Define and implement tailored strategies for different audiences and target groups.
  • Identify new audiences and develop initiatives to strengthen their engagement with Lucilin.
  • Collect and analyse audience data to inform communication and engagement strategies.

Candidate Profile

  • Higher education qualification in communications, marketing, cultural mediation, arts management or a related field.
  • Solid professional experience in a similar role, ideally within the cultural sector.
  • Artistic sensitivity and a strong interest in music and the wider cultural sector.
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity and versatility.
  • Ability to work independently, excellent organisational skills and a collaborative mindset.

Languages

Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of Luxembourgish and/or German is highly valued. Any additional language will be considered an asset.

Employment Terms

  • Contract: Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week), or as agreed.
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Location: Luxembourg City, with the possibility of remote working.
  • Travel: Occasional travel within Luxembourg may be required.
  • Working hours: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during productions (flexible working hours).
