LUXEMBOURG COMPOSITION ACADEMY 2021

Since 2015, United Instruments of Lucilin has presented, together with neimënster, a composition masterclass in Luxembourg, inviting eight young composers from all over the world to come during one week in Luxembourg and to work on a new piece, composed for the occasion, led by two renowned composers and by musicians of United Instruments of Lucilin, in a creative and inspirant place which is the Abbaye of Neimënster. The program consists of lectures, one-to-one lessons, a workshop on „How to present one’s music to the public“, as well as workshops with the musicians of the ensemble. The Luxembourg Composition Academy is part of the rainy days festival, the Philharmonie Luxembourg international festival for contemporary music. For its 2021 edition, the Academy will take place from November 14th to November 20th 2021 and the faculty will consist of invited composers Georges Aperghis and Clara Iannotta, together with United Instruments of Lucilin and conductor Julien Leroy. The final concert, which will take place on November 20th 2021, will present the 8 brand new pieces by these young and talented composers.
