Lucilin in the city #2 – Winds in the city

Starting in January 2023, United Instruments of Lucilin will present a new series of concerts with each month, a programme curated by one musician of the ensemble, thus highlighting Lucilin’s diverse musical personalities and more generally, the huge diversity of the contemporary music repertoire.

The « Lucilin in the City » series aims, with a concert each month in a different venue, to pursue Lucilin’s will to open contemporary music to different spaces, and to offer the audience a renewed concert experience each time.

Lucilin’s winds instrumentalists are having fun in this colourful program curated by Olivier Sliepen, saxophonist of the ensemble! French composer Christian Lauba is at the center of this program; his music, although virtuoso and complex, is easy-listening, not demagogic. In David Lang’s Press Release, the clarinetist offers minimalist grooves in permanent evolution, whereas the different colors of the instruments melt in Furrer and Castex’ trios.
