Live-cinema: The Lodger, Hitchcock

During the rainy days festival, Lucilin will present a new live-cinema project. Commissioned by the Philharmonie, young composer Tatsiana Zelianko wrote the music of Hitchcock’s silent film The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927)
(Les cheveux dorés).

A serial killer known as “The Avenger” is on the loose in London, murdering blonde women. A mysterious man arrives at the house of Mr. and Mrs. Bunting looking for a room to rent. The Bunting’s daughter is a blonde model and is seeing one of the detectives assigned to the case. The detective becomes jealous of the lodger and begins to suspect he may be the avenger…

This year, the theme of the festival is suspense, it is not surprising then that it is this film, based on the dark story of Jack the Reaper, that has been chosen for this live-cinema project.
