Dérivée – Patrick Muller
In the form of a sound performance for a human voice, two musical instruments, and a digital sound processing system, Dérivée explores the space between reading and concert, between language and music.
Where does one end and the other begin? Does this space consist of a no man’s land of separation, or rather of fluid transitions of connection? How does the meaning of what is said contrast with the meaning of what is performed?
Dérivée is the performative version of Patrick Muller’s multimedia installation Gestalten. Both deal with poems from Guy Helminger’s anthology. Performance, installation and anthology are some of the results of the artists’ collective that conceives projects for the Luxembourg pavilion on the occasion of the Expo2020Dubai world exhibition.
