Dérivée / Exposition universelle de Dubaï
Dérivée is a sound performance for one human voice, three acoustic instruments, and one digital sound processing system. The performance aims at exploring the space between poetry lecture and concert, between language and music. Where does one end, where does the other begin? Does this space consist of a separating no man’s land, or rather of connecting, seamless transitions? How does the meaning of what is said compare to the meaning of what is played?
Dérivée is the performative version of Patrick Muller’s multimedia installation Gestalten, currently exhibited at the Luxembourg pavillonin Dubai. Both process poems from the anthology by Guy Helminger.
Performance, installation and anthology are some of the results of the artist collective Kënschtlerkollektiv that designed art projects for the Luxembourg pavilion on the occasion of the Expo2020Dubai world exhibition.
Patrick Muller is a Luxembourgish multimedia artist based in Berlin, Germany.
