Brice Pauset : Franges de la nature humaine
By placing his monodramas Theorie der Tränen: Louise and Wonderful Deluxe Suite in dialogue, Brice Pauset plays with contrasts. The first, inspired by the life of Louise du Néant, a 17th century mystic, presents an existence turned towards the realization of a unique desire: spiritual union. The second is devoted to the figure of the it-girl, “a product of the spectacular commercial sphere, who produces nothing and lets the whole world know it”. Two works in negative, carried by the voices of the soprano Salome Kammer and the counter-tenor Dominique Visse, which draw a portrait of human nature through its most extreme margins.
Brice Pauset is a composer associated with the 2021-2022 season of the Cité musicale-Metz.
